Many founders and leaders love the idea - the product, the technology, the mission. But they resent the actual work of running the organisation: hiring, meetings, processes, conflicts, budgets.

The Reality

Running the company is the job. If you only enjoy the idea but not the execution, you'll:

• Neglect operational work.
• Burn out from doing things you hate.
• Under-invest in people and process.
• Build a fragile organisation around a great idea.

What to Do

• Find satisfaction in the craft of leadership itself.
• If you genuinely hate operational work, hire someone who loves it and let them run it.
• Accept that the idea is 1%. Execution is 99%.

The Reframe

Building and running a great team is the creative work. It's not a distraction from the real work - it is the real work.
