Power of a Loop
Systems / Concepts
A loop repeats. Repetition is how small things become big.
What It Means
Loops — feedback, iteration, recursion, habits — are how systems generate outcomes disproportionate to inputs. A 1% daily improvement becomes 37x in a year. A small bias, fed back over time, reshapes the whole system.
Why It Matters
- Single events rarely explain system behaviour. Loops do.
- Loops compound quietly, then dominate suddenly.
- Designing a loop is often more powerful than designing a feature.
How to Apply
- Look for the loops in any system you want to change.
- Ask: what happens when this runs a thousand times?
- Small leverage in a loop beats large one-off effort.
Examples
- Compounding interest.
- Retention × growth creating viral curves.
- A bad review reducing sales, reducing reviews.
