How to Apply
- Build for a problem you personally have.
- Use the product daily, on real work.
- If you wouldn't use it, ask why — the answer is almost always important.
The Trap
You are a weird user. Your skills, patience, and context don't match the broader market. Products built only for the founder often stall at the niche where the founder lives.
How to Fix the Trap
- Observe non-you users early and often.
- Distinguish preferences (your taste) from needs (their reality).
- When you disagree with users, stay curious longer than feels comfortable.
