From Eisenhower. Most urgent things are not important, and most important things are not urgent.
| Urgent | Not Urgent | |
|---|---|---|
| Important | Do it now | Schedule it |
| Not Important | Delegate it | Drop it |
Urgent tasks demand attention. They buzz, ping, and feel like they matter. Important tasks sit quietly until it's too late.
Leaders who live in "urgent" mode:
Urgent but not important: Most Slack messages, many meetings, minor bugs. Important but not urgent: Architecture improvements, team development, documentation, hiring, strategy.
