Knowing things changes less than knowing how to find and apply them.
Accumulated knowledge is what you've stored — facts, frameworks, past experience. Knowledge in time is your ability to find, evaluate, and apply information when you need it. One is a library; the other is knowing how to use one.
| Accumulated Knowledge | Knowledge in Time |
|---|---|
| What you already know | What you can find and apply when needed |
| Valuable for fast decisions | Valuable for novel problems |
| Decays as contexts change | Stays useful as long as you stay curious |
| Feels like expertise | Feels like resourcefulness |
Overvaluing what you already know. Experience is an asset, but clinging to it makes you rigid. The best professionals combine a strong base with the humility to look things up.
